August 2022 Review #1 Dial A for Aunties

  Dial A for Aunties

Written by Jesse Q Sutanto

About

Meddy goes on a blind date (that her mother sets up) and she accidentally kills him and her Aunties (and mother) come to her rescue.

Review

Dial A for Auntie was an amazing read; great for you’re in the mood for a light hearted read (like I was after reading Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover). This book made me laugh and honestly I haven’t laughed while reading a book in a very long time and this book achieved that. Each Auntie is extremely different from each other, the only thing they share in common is their love for the main Character Meddy and their willingness to do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

Pros

I love how Sutanto shows that even every family member is different and even though  they fight (a lot) they all love each other very much. Another thing I loved was some of the things in the story that happened I didn’t expect and were extremely surprising.

Cons

One thing I did have an issue with was the aunt that would do Tai Chi through the entire book which got annoying and it felt sorta like that was her whole character.

All and all I am excited to read the second book ‘Four Aunties and a Wedding’

5/5 ⭐️
