People We Meet on Vacation
Written by Emily Henry
About from Goodreads.com
Two best friends. Ten summer trips. One last chance to fall in love.
Poppy and Alex. Alex and Poppy. They have nothing in common. She’s a wild child; he wears khakis. She has an insatiable wanderlust; he prefers to stay home with a book. And somehow, ever since a fateful car share home from college many years ago, they are the very best of friends. For most of the year they live far apart—she’s in New York City, and he’s in their small hometown—but every summer, for a decade, they have taken one glorious week of vacation together.
Until two years ago, when they ruined everything. They haven't spoken since.
Poppy has everything she should want, but she’s stuck in a rut. When someone asks when she was last truly happy, she knows, without a doubt, it was on that ill-fated, final trip with Alex. And so, she decides to convince her best friend to take one more vacation together—lay everything on the table, make it all right. Miraculously, he agrees.
Now she has a week to fix everything. If only she can get around the one big truth that has always stood quietly in the middle of their seemingly perfect relationship. What could possibly go wrong?
Review
Hello Dear Reader, I really liked People We Meet on Vacation’. I was super impressed by this book and I completely understand how it became so beloved on Booktok and Bookstagram. This almost made it so I didn't write a review on it because it seems like everyone has a review on it. I still decided to still write a review because I enjoy writing them. Let’s get on with the review and start with what I enjoyed as I usually do with every review I write.
The first thing I enjoyed was that it gave me the chance to get some of my wanderlust out. I love the chance to explore the beautiful world around us and go off the beaten path and find diners. I even just like driving around especially since I rarely leave the house so I basically have cabin fever yeah round. This book was able to give me the well needed escape while my hubby is away. Another thing I enjoyed was that they went to Palm Springs, California. I was expecting them to go to an exotic place outside the USA. This was a super amazing surprise since I can go to this place. Thirdly, I liked how some chapters were flashbacks and every time there was a flashback chapter it would go down closer to the present.
The one thing I ABSOLUTELY hated was the ‘sad puppy eyes’ Alex would do it was so repetitive and it started to seem like Henry was trying to make it a quirky thing Which I found super annoy, if it would have happened like once or twice that would be fine but it happened so many times. I cannot express how annoying I found it. I even ended up taking a star away because I will never reread this book again, just because of the damn ‘Sad Puppy eyes’.
Other than the extremely annoying puppy eyes thing. I enjoyed this book soI am giving it a 4 out of 5 stars. I do recommend this book to people who love to travel and the best friends to lovers trope. It is also a perfect summer read.

“While you sit upright in the dark? No way. For one thing, that’s extremely creepy, and for another, I’m up, so I might as well be of use.” - Poppy page 138
“I misread that sign as ghosts, not goats, and now I’m just disappointed”- Alex page 207?(using digital so it is sometimes hard to tell what actually page it is on in paperback)
